Embellish Me Happy a go...

Hello everyone.  Today begins the first set of challenges over at Embellish Me Happy and I'm so excited to share my Project Life challenge today!

Here is my Week 14 layout...my favorite color is green and I just happened to find a box of green embellishments when cleaning out my desk at work.  My tag is colored with different colored green markers and highlighters and embellished with flowers and some cool feathers I found too.

·   Create a layout that is all one color.  You can pick any color you wish and use all shades of that color. 

·   This month’s embellishment theme is: TAGS!  So go ahead and embellish a tag and add it to your PL layout.  You can cover it in washi tape, pattern paper… whatever you want, just remember to keep it in the same color family that you chose for your layout.

·   My last requirement is: have fun and don’t stress that your layout doesn’t look like everyone else’s.  You are unique and so are your pages J To be in the running for our Prize this month from Paper Nest Dolls please have your PL challenge uploaded by May 11th 11:59 EST by Mr.Linky on the side bar.

Project Life continues...

Hello... before I share my layouts I just wanted to let you all know that April 23 Embellish Me Happy opens and I will be hosting my April Project Life Challenge!  I want to invite you all to check it out, so mark your calendars.

I'm so behind with sharing my pages, so this is picture heavy.  Here are Weeks 7 to 13...

Week 7: I received my first Studio Calico PL kit in February, so alot of the pieces are from that kit.

I included my Valentine's Day card and some pictures on the back that I never got to insert in Week 7.

Weeks 8 & 9: this was the two weeks that I was very busy with the whole moving process.  This was the best I could do and for me it's better then having nothing for those two weeks.

BTW I got that airmail washi tape at AC Moore, it's so cool.

Week 10: I love typing text onto my photos and including digital elements to my layouts.

Week 11: the "We Have Laundry" picture has a very funny story to it.  My first week getting my laundry done the people lost all our clothes :(  It was horrible, but we were refunded the money and bought some new stuff.  Getting the laundry back the next week was awesome LOL

Weeks 12 & 13: not many pictures these two weeks and I somehow lost my mojo with PL.

Project Life Update!

I'm back with a catch up of my Project Life pages and some little tips along the way.  FYI: I do one week on one side of each page protector, two pages a week is way too much for me to do LOL

Week 1 - Tip: find cute items that you get at stores or restuarants and use them in your PL album!  I got this cute postcard from Bath & Body Works and used it as my Week One card :)

Week 2 - Tip: use a little pocket on your page to hold extra pictures!  I used one to hold extra pictures I took at Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum.

Week 3 - Tip: even if you're not a "digital" scrapper, you can add images on top of your photos for added interest.  I added the Fox News Flash to the picture of Michael doing dishes.

Week 4 - this 12x12 We R Memory Keepers page protector holds 9 4x4 pictures - perfect for those Instagram pictures!

Week 5 - Tip: don't beat yourself up if you're page doesn't turn out like you wanted it to.  I really hate this page but didn't have time to go back and make it look better.  I just moved on.

Week 6 - Tip: experiment with different types of page protectors.

watching:  let's see...I'm obsessed with this new show on MTV called Catfish.  Have you guys watched this?  Since I've been online dating the past couple of months it certainly hits close to home and I could tell you guys a story or two.  And I think Nev is adorable :)

reading: still on book 3 of Fifty...yeah I know, I know you're saying "how did you not finish that book yet?" See the next topic for the reason!

listening: Damn Google Play music store!!!  Giving away free songs - knowing I'll get hooked and buy the full album.  I'm loving these new artists... Minus the Bear & Coheed and Cambria, plus the new Bruno Mars album (love).  And I never get tired of listening to Scream & Shout by will.i.am and Gangnam Style by Psy.

making: I haven't been making anything lately.  Just working strictly on Project Life this year and trying desperately to get my scrapping mojo back. 

planning: on having some fun this year.  Doing what I have no idea yet, but I do want to have fun and enjoy life in 2013.

I'm so excited to start on a brand new year of Project Life for 2013!

The polariods are from one 12x12 sheet of paper, I just cut them out and added the silhouette pictures and word quotes.

Project Life Organizer

I'm so geared up to start my 2013 Project Life album! I bought some new supplies recently which I'll be sharing soon. I've learned some things from doing PL this year, the main thing is that I want to improve on adding more journaling. So I decided to make a little journaling binder that I can keep with me at all times.

I had this cute little binder laying around, so I covered it with these cute Sassafras Paper Whimsies cards that I had forever. I bought some basic graph paper, cut them down to side and added them into the binder. I made sections for each month of the year. I also included December 2012 so I can journal for my December Daily section of my PL album. I made an inside pocket cover to hold small items. I now have pages for each month where I can write down which week it is, the dates, and all my journaling and picture ideas.

So hopefully this will keep me a little more organized for 2013 and more importantly help me add in more journaling, cute sayings that my boys said...stuff like that.
